sdx plug-in?could you perhaps have any details?was wondering if you could put up
more sounds like sdx,sds7,sds9,etc.also i was wondering when the screensaver
will be up?

comment: Cool down, Matt! Programming an SDX emulating VST plugin is more a dream because this recommends a lot of development time for a single person and I already have two full time jobs. It also might be easier to start with something like an SDS 200? ;-)
The 3D OpenGL screensaver might be a nice project during winter time.

Hi, great site! are there any samples from the sds 2000 expansion cards
anywhere? an sdsV virtual synth would be great.

comment: Unfortunately not, only the onboard sounds are offered in the "sounds" area

Hi! I love your site. I was thinking. Wouldn\'t it be cool to have a virtual
Simmons kit where you could play it online? That would be hard to make, but it
would be cool for people like me who have not got my hands on a kit yet.

comment: Hehe, not a bad idea. I will do that right after the Simmons screensaver and the SDX VST plugin ;-)
Seriously: Not to hard to do, but time matters...

i was wondering if the sdx could be expanded past the 8 mb of ram?
comment: as far as I know that\'s not possible, at least because the OS would not support more RAM

Sorry to bother you here in the guestbook, but is it true that the simmons sds V
uses british xlr outputs? the seller told me this is the reason for not getting
a single sound out of the main or individual outputs. I should have to put a
converter between the xlrs somehow.

Kind Regards

Paul

comment: Hi Paul. Please bother me any time.
I think the yahoo newsgroup might be a better help as I am not that familiar with electronics.
For a quick hack, the only thing I can tell you is that when I use the SDSV brains with common XLR to XLR cables they work, but if you use standard XLR to 6.3mm Jacks (e.g. for connection with a line mixer) the cables have to be somehow customized. I got at least one of these cables when I bought one. So if you are going on 6.3mm jacks, that might be the case. If you are getting a trigger signal then it is even likely the case.
So I (as a skill-free electronician) would try to open the XLR-jack ending of the cable and modify the pin settings until you get the desired output signal.

how do i download sound files ? i have the new quicktime _version 7-us & it
wont let me!help please.because i\'d like to get the sounds from units i dont
have!thanks

comment: You are using Firefox 1.4 on Windows. There are several ways you can try out.
1. Try to click the download link with the right mouse button in order to see the download dialog and to avoid playing the sound in the window through the plugin. If this doesn\'t work:
2. Just let it play through the plugin. While playing choose \'Save page as...\' in the \'File\' menu. The WAV/mp3 file should be displayed in the \'Save as\' dialog. If even this does not work:
3. Deactivate your quicktime plugin. This can be (temporary) done by removing it out of the Firefox plugins folder which is likely located under the firefox folder itself.

If all that fails: Blow your Windows box ;-)
