I remember the day I got my SDS 8 kit as a birthday gift. It was one of the
most exciting days of my life. Now, they still sit 20 years later in a closet
at my moms house. I need to start toying around with them again. I\'m sure
they could use a good cleaning up! Great site! It brings back memories.

comment: Hi Larry, thanks for your kind posting. You may contact me for any cleaning advice :-)

How can i sequence the sds8 without the sds6?. I mean, another way to do it.
Thanx

comment: The most direct way is to use a sequencer which produces trigger pulses itself.
If you have a midi sequencer you need a midi to trigger device like the Simmons MTM (Midi to Trigger To Midi).
As the SDS8 can be triggered by any pulse like audio signals from another drum machine, a drum machine with at least 5 separate outs should work.

i was wondering if you had any plans on adding .wav files of sdx
sounds,please!!!!!

comment: I don\'t have any plans to add more SDX sounds in the near future. At least not during the next months as I am very short of time at the moment. Sorry

Where can i buy eproms of cymbal sounds for a sds9,Thanks Bernie
comment: To run them in your SDS9? You need to empty at least one eprom slot for your snare or a rim sound? However. You find eproms regularly on Ebay or -the more flexible way- download the howto file on this site which explains how to burn your own eproms. You can either use the 1:1 original binary files from the eprom area (this list will be extended soon) or make your own 8 bit samples.
I am also planning to write a little helper program which will be able to convert WAVE files into 8 bit eprom format without using special waveform editors.

i had a hard time downloading 909_sidetick ,it says that the link may be broken
comment: fixed, try again! (but expect too much, you might have been able to reproduce this sound better on a pan?)
