Hi Thomas,
the only avice I can give is too keep an eye on Ebay regularly. There have only been built 250 units, probably 100 are still working so you can estimate how rare these machines are. Once or twice a year there\'s one on Ebay.
Good luck!

Thanks for a great site. I no longer have my Simmons set but wish I still did.
It would be great if these came back. At least the sounds. Cheers.

Thanks! At least you could download some samples to make your personal cellphone ringtones?

I spent many hours programming and discussing Simmons drums with users. I\'m
not a drummer, more a synth programmer. Great conversations with John Bennetts
from Eurogliders and Mal Green from Split Enz.

I\'ll continue.... it looks great and when I finally get my stuff unpacked I\'ll
be able to submit somethings that I hope you\'ll be able to post on your site.
PS. The homepage is of my first ever band...no Simmons stuff there - but you may
find it interesting.
Regards.
John

Hi,
Great site...good to see someone still appreciates THE original electronic drum
manufacturing and design company.
I have had a fairly long association with Simmons, going back to the SDS7, SDS6,
Clap-Trap, EPB, MTM, and finally the SDX.
I did a some beta-testing of the SDX (pads with non-wooden sticks, and software
- perrelease) and have a full sound library - to the best of my knowledge.
I used to communicate my findings (whilst testing) with Baz Watts, and Roly
Kerridge...both of whom I\'m afraid I\'ve since lost contact with. However I do
also have a fairly large amount of memorabilia (various Simmons stuff) including
a copy of the SDX service manual (which Baz managed to sneak out of the factory
when they went bust... before they setup as a smaller concern in Cambridge
somewhere).
I am at present unable to furnish any stuff because I\'ve just moved house and
all of my memorabilia etc. is in boxes waiting to be unpacked.
However keep the site going.. it looks

Hello and bravo for your excelent work! I find your site truly a museum with all
the information a simmons freak want to find. I want to ask you a question: I
have a sds8 and the 2 channels (snare & high tom) dont work. Is there anybody in
Europe who could fix it? Thank you very much!

comment: Hi Peter,
thanks! You will get contact to very experienced Simmons techs in the Yahoo newsgroup. But: The SDS8 is a full analog and not very complicated unit. Probably a common radio technician in your neighbourhood might be able to detect and replace faulty components. If not, the newsgroup folks are very friendly and helpful and will assist if you explain the trouble you have with your unit. The link is at the bottom of the "about" area

from

comment:
Hi,
1. I never made Simmons drums myself ;-)
2. The company does not exist anymore since 1993. If you are interested, try Ebay or something similar
