Hi there, Great interesting site, its good to know that I\'m not alone being a
simmons nerd ! Just wondered if you do repairs? I have a ADT, MTM that are
poorly.

Hi Paul,
sorry, I don\'t do repairs. But you have good chances to find somebody in the yahoo group http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/Simmons_Drums/

hi folks
where can i find a ???sds ??? pad orange coloured plastic surface with a 64 ohm
captor
the captor i am looking for

comment: Why does the pad have to be orange if you are looking for the 64 ohm captor only? And what is a "64 ohm captor"? Capacitor or resistor? ohm?

Hi could you give me any advice on how to sort out white shells that have
yellowed? SDS9 kit. Any help would be appreciated. Great site...top class.

Hi Andy,
most asked question...
I use car laquer polish and cotton wool. That might help as I guess that the yellow is only on the surface. Because laquer polish products might differ, try the product first on the inside.

Thanks for the advice, maybe I\'ll take some before and after photos of my
polishing efforts for the site. I didn\'t notice until after reading older
comments that the question of how to polish Simmons shells was such a popular
question.

As for the SDS 5 cymbal, I would still love to have a pair even if they\'re
uncomfortable to play. Sometimes great aesthetics are worth the sacrifice in a
live situation. For now I\'ll go with the flourescent red or clear Pintech
Visu-Lites. The best looking electronic cymbals around by far and are supposed
to play well too.

Thanks again for creating and maintaining this great site!

I live in Los Angeles and just purchased a black set of SDS 8\'s via eBay for
only $180. I\'m very pleased with the kit, but would love to polish out the fine
scratches in the shells if possible. Anyone ever tried to do this? I know Brasso
works miracles on iPods (both front and back), maybe it would work for Simmons
shells as well. Any advice would be appreciated.

Also want to say that I love this site! A very helpful resource with lots of eye
candy. I would love to see a picture of a complete yellow Simmons kit if anyone
has one. And if anyone knows where I can find one of those Simmons cymbals
featured with with the white SDS 5 pics, please let me know. Those look like
modern art.

Hi Jay,
for polishing purposes I use ordinary car laquer Polish and cotton wool. However, no matter which product you want to try, it\'s always a good idea to try with a sample piece of plastic before you start with real pads.
Concerning the cymbal pads: Well, yes, rare stuff, but if it mutes your desire: The cymbal pads are really no fun to play. They are inflexible and don\'t play like cymbals at all. I guess they where more ment to be an eye catcher in MTV clips.

I used to have an SDSV and a SDS7 (with a dodgy CPU) and my gosh, how I miss
them, especially the SDSV!!! One of these days I\'ll find another SDSV and keep
it this time!!!! Great to see someone\'s keeping the flame lit!

I worked at Simmons with Steve, and was the guy that designed most of the
electronics. The SDS-EPB was my first \'baby\', and I was involved with most of
the kit thereafter. It\'s really great to see it all again, so thanks a million
for what you have done here!
