HI,
Great site. It has taken me back in time. I am the owner of a complete gig kit I
bought about 10 years ago of a drummer in London. Life is such that I have to
sell. Anyone interested please mail me for more details.
Cheers
James

Hey , i just bought my self a Sds8 kit with a special designed flight case for
it. Everything seems to work and i think even the cabels are the originals!
Anyway, how do i get the midi socet to work? What do i have to do to be able to
control it by a midi device? And how mutch is this kit with original flight
worth today? PS : It truly sounds awesome!

comment: Hi,
which midi socket? The SDS8 has no midi. Definetely. The port on the backside which looks like one is in fact a sequencer input (the wiring should me mentioned in the manual). If you want to midify the SDS8 you need an external impulse2midi converter like the Simmons MTM, Simmons ADT, SDS6, Aphex Impulse or probably just a midi rythm machine with single outputs so you can trigger the SDS8 e.g. with rimshot sounds from this machine.
If you can\'t find any infos about the wiring of the sequencer input: The SDS800 features the same! Take a look at the SDS200/400/800 manual on page 16
Bye

Sorry Wolfgang, and thanks for Michael\'s contact. Can i use SDS9 Pads with SDSV
Brain if i use the good connectic? Is the dynamics ok? is it always difficult to
find Hi-hat and cymbals moduls for SDSV? What kind of music do you play
Wolfgang? What Simmons \'s stuffs do you play?
Cheers

comment:
Hi Franck,
I guess so. I have tried the first generation of SDS7 pads (Mark III) and they worked ok. Still I guess the riot shield pads still offer the best dynamics in combination with the SDSV brain.
It\'s pretty easy to find HiHat and Cymbal modules as long as you are a rich man who is willing to pay lots of money.
I don\'t play any Simmons stuff at all. Believe it or not. I am an accoustic drummer who loves and performs accoustic music. I would have liked to play Simmons 20 years ago when I did not have the money. At the moment I am developping a mesh head set based on SDSV pads in order to combine the vintage look with today\'s technology. I am still waiting for some parts, so only the snare and bassdrum pads are finished yet (and work perfectly!). I will publish pictures of te entire set soon.
Bye
