Hello,
first , thank you for such a web site.
Planning to buy a Simmons drum for a genuine Simmons sound source for my studio ,it give me a great support.
Finally I\'ve got an SDV unit but , please , I need expert help.
Here are some questions for you :
-How can I get THAT sound whitout its original pads ?....I mean triggering it whitout pads ?..
- do any kind of Simmons pads works fine ?
- I read on the manual that feed the trigger in ports whit a pre recorded pad output will do the best result , are you agree ?....
-Where I can find some good samples of the SDV original pads ?...
-the last : my SDV unit has a fault pot on the snare module , the noise /tone one.
Can you suggest me where I can found a spare for it ?
Tons of thanks for support!
Michele

HI Wolfgang,my sds9 battery leaked and it at the electronic repair store, but the battery is in question as to what to replace it with. is it a rechargeable lithium ion or just a normal battery?also the voltage is in question 12vdc or 16vdc,all i can find are 3vdc and they say they are non rechargeable.the battery is apparently a Z2a-110 series?

Do you have a price guide for the SDSV kits? If not, I have one that I got from Simmons Electronics USA in CA. the year was 84.

i vividly remember a music vid from the eighties (i thought it was spandau ballet, but haven\'t found it yet...) with a drummer using a "custom" simmons kit where the pads were sculpted/molded heads. am i crazy, or did this kit exist?! hope you know what i\'m talking about.

HI, THanks for a great homage page. I got a SDS 200 for $16 some years ago, but without the pad. Would any new pad work or does it have to be the original?

Thanks for posting those clips Glyn. I saw Josh with NIN in December and he still plays the same way and has the same look on his face. Hehehe. Nice vids.
