SDS 9
swimming surface, changeable shells
My personal favourite under all generations of rubber pads. Simmons introduced the concept of changable coloured backside shells. This concept was followed until the end of the company. Another new feature is the swimming surface: A plywood plate stuck to the bottom to the rubber surface without any contact to the outer hard plastic frame.
By default these pads are equipped with 1/4" jacks. For the SDS 7 there is a special XLR version, for the SDS 9 there is a stereo pad with a separate rim trigger for the snare pad.
