Love you site!! I have a question about pads - I came across a pad on eBay where
the "O" in the word \'Simmons\' on the rubber pad surface is shaded in (white or
light grey), and the seller said that it was the dual-trigger snare pad. I had
always read that the snare pads were distinguished by their grey rubber surface
(as opposed to black). Does anyone have one of theses "shaded O" pads and are
they dual trigger?? Thanks!!!

comment:
Hi Joe,
the seller is right. The Mark4 pads with grey "O" are the stereo pads that came with the SDS9. They have an additional rim trigger stuck to the outer frame of the pad.
The pads with the light grey surface are SDX pads and will not work with any other synth (by default...) as they don\'t have a single transducer but a force resistant sound foil (FSR) over the whole surface area in order to trigger samples depending on how hard and WHERE you hit them. They are displayed in the pads area.

Hi, I was wondering if it was posible to trigger sounds not asigned to a drum
kit with midi on a SDS20000?, And i saw your hexahead pads have the post dave
simmons log mine dont, are they the wrong shells?

comment:
Hi Daniel,
as far as I know the hexahead pads only appear with the new logo but I wouldn\'t be disappointed if not :-)
However. Both shells have the same dimension so it is rather easy to exchange both kinds. The only difference is that the hole for the screw in the newer shells. If you think the hole is drilled subsequently, then they have been exchanged by a former owner.
Concerning your Midi question: I don\'t understand exactly what you are intending to do: Is the SDS2000 the sender or the receiver of midi data? Both directions are possible as you have midi in and midi out (and of course midi through). So you better send me an email and explain some details

Simmons on business again?
God bless the 80\' return!..and revenge :-)

comment:
Hi Mario,
once again: This has NOTHING to do with the original Simmons. It\'s just a sticker on a cheap toy kit from far east from somebody who bought the name rights. It appears under 5 different names on Ebay. This kit will definetely never make it on this site!

Hey there - just wanted to say thank you for the great site! I\'ve been a
Simmons freak since the early \'80\'s and use a 7-piece setup in my synth
studio... remind me to send you a pic! Cheers! V

Hi Dan,
yes, I sadly noticed that a cheap kit from far east wears the Simmons logo after Guitarcenter from L.A. has bought the name rights. So now the same kit appears under at least 5 different names on Ebay.
