It is possible to restore the pads to original color using Novus Plastic Polish
#2. If the yellowing is deep into the pad shell, it is possible that it cannot
be removed. But, with repeated applications, it should restore the color.

Hi there

Awesome site you have here, its definately a place where i can learn more about
these wonderful drumkits and alot about simmons drums in general. I recently
brought an sds 800 brain and i have unfortunately blown the transformer. In the
process of looking for a replacement part. Do you know what type of transformer
i need that will work with australia\'s voltage?

allzu gut ist. Welche der Pad-Serien sind aus Acryl die innenliegend lackiert
wurden?

Trying to get a friend\'s SDX working again. Is anyone able to send me a
Simmons SDX system disk image? You can read the disk into an image file in a
Windows PC with a program called \'OmniFlop\'. The original disk is showing
errors. Thanks!

Hi there,need help.
My sds9 brain cannot reproduce the rim sound.
The initial internal check,by the way ,seems ok,no error report in the small
display.,everyhting seems to work properly,but no sound from the rim channell.
Eprom problem??
I have a stereo pad,stereo chord,but no way.....at all.
Anyone experimented the same problem??

Hi!
I own a SdS9 kit.
I just cannot find out how to play the rim of the snare drum.
I have 5 exagonal pads,1 big and 4 smaller,all in black.
I know that one pad should be a stereo one,and can reproduce both snare and rim
sounds...but i cannot find it.
Please help.

Hi Adrian,
the stereo pads have a light grey "o" in the rubber sided Simmons logo. If your pads don\'t have this mark, they are mono and cannot trigger the rim sound seperately

Hi ! I\'m from Quebec ,Canada. I just bought a SDS-8 complete kit yesterday.
It almost looks like a brand new kit ! The back of the pads are white, but
some of them has a little discolouration, some parts are a little yellowish. Is
there any way to restore the color ?

I lived with Art Bleah the drummer in Felony when he received his human head
aet. The comment on the posted video indicates that is the sound of acoustic
drums. I attended the studio during the entire production of that album. I can
tell you the drums are most definitly the simmons human head drums. Only real
cymbals were used. Interesting studio tricks were also employed. The kick was
played back thru an autatone near feild monitor placed in a brown shpping bag.
That was mic\'d, tracked and mixed in. Art would play live thru a peavy cs800
and ampeg 8 x 10 cabs for personal monitors. Recorded and live, they sounded
huge.

These drums are extremely rare and it was nice to find your post.
