Can someone tell me if MTM has some visual indication when it recieves a trigger
signal. I cannot get it to do anything and this is my first port of call on the
fault finding route.
Thanks in advance

As far as I know (I haven\'t tried yet) you can not by default but there is a way to add a resistor which will make them work just as mono pads. But I would discourage from that idea. It is really a waste and likely you would be disappointed by the dynamics.
Best regards

Hi Wolfgang. Thx a hell of a lot for making Simmons Clinics happen. Without your
support I wouldn\'t have so much fun. Ludwigsburg was really a great weekend!!!
Looking forward to the next "GIG". Thank you so much....

Hi Nicolas and Lauri,

if you are only interested to couple the look of hexagonal drum pads with advanced sound devices, I can recommend the Alesis I/O trigger to midi interface. It works with any Mark IV pad (SDS9 style, the XLR version needs an XLR->jack adaptor for each pad). Don\'t expect the dynamic response of today\'s Roland or Yamaha pads, but it works fine and the Alesis is a cheap but reliable device.

If you are looking especially for a Simmons brain providing Midi out, you can use SDS1000M (the \'M\' is important! It is also available as non midi), SDS9, TMI, ADT, SDS2000, SDX as trigger to midi converter.

So where can you get them? We are talking about rare and vintage gear. Keep your eyes on the standard online market places.

Best regards
Wolfgang

Love your site and I too have a SDS7 set. I am the original owner bought in
1983. I choose the Red pads for the set I bought.. Peace.
