Hi, great site. I\'ve trying to restore a set of SDS9 pads. Does anyone know whether it is possible to get parts for the tom arm clamps that are actually inside the pads? Previous owners have either broken the clamps or stripped the threads and replaced the tension rods with ordinary screws/nuts. In particular the bass drum clamps are broken. I\'d rather not break up another pad to get the parts but source separately. Thanks

G\'day all!
Does anyone know (I can\'t remember) what file format the SDX uses for it\'s disks? I seem to recall Motu\'s Mach Five as being able to read them, although I never tried it myself. Ran into a guy that had a full library, but no SDX anymore. Maybe the sample dump standard (SDS) or Sound Designer format(SDi)? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello.
This site is such an amazing resource. Thanks so much for all you do here. I just had a quick question to possibly get alittle help. I purchased some CB700 series Simmons pads that I\'d like to cleanup/refurbish but can\'t get a definative answer as to how to safely take them apart. I downloaded the doc in your PDF section that talked a bit about it but in trying to follow the info outlined there I met with little success. I was wondering if you had any pointers to get it done safely.
Thanks so much for your consideration
Take care
Jeffrey

Does anybody know a procedure to reset a Portakit to factory settings?
After a battery replacement, I am having problems triggering notes from external pads. If I try to play a drum roll, I can only trigger one (1) note every 2 seconds approx.
Internal pads are working fine, drum rolls trigger all notes. I guess resetting it to factory, might solve the problem.
Help please,
Ed.

Hi Wolfgang,i have the mtm which i want to trigger the roland R8 hi hat sounds using the simmons sds 5 pedal plugged into the mtm(early serial numbers wireing of sds 5) the mtm manual then shows a 1/4 inch mono jack out to the sds 5 hi hat pedal in,which i guess also triggers the sds 5 when pedal is closed. The mtm manual shows all of the 7 pads plgged into the mtm ,but does not show which pad would be the hi hat for striking, would it be the pad pluged into the sds 5 ?,or one of the seven pads pluged into the mtm with the same midi note number ??appreciate your help, thanks.

Hi Wolfgang. I have some simmons gear to get rid off, Zurich based.I have a sds9 stashed in the cellar and am moving house.2 black Bass pads and about 12-14 pads(2 are damaged )rest are spotless. I will put onto ebay for interested buyers, also 3 white pads and expander modules and sds8 module. Thanks a mill...still keeping my sdsv thats a piece of history and added to my new electronic kit setup...80\'s rule.
Happy playing to all electro - heads.
